Kawasaki India has extended its offer on the Ninja ZX-6R, with buyers of the middleweight supersport now set to receive an Öhlins steering damper worth ₹83,000 at no additional cost. The motorcycle continues to be priced at ₹12.49 lakh (ex-showroom), while Kawasaki is also advertising finance plans with monthly EMIs starting at ₹26,900.
The latest offer should be available until August 31. Buyers should check with their nearest Kawasaki dealership for the complete terms and conditions, including eligibility and fitment of the steering damper.
The offer is significant because an Öhlins steering damper is an expensive aftermarket upgrade. On a motorcycle such as the ZX-6R, a steering damper can help control unwanted handlebar movement and improve stability during hard acceleration and rapid changes in direction. This can be particularly useful for riders who intend to take the supersport motorcycle to a racetrack.
There also appears to be some confusion among existing owners regarding the accessory. Several customers have commented on Kawasaki’s offer communication, saying that they purchased their motorcycles earlier in the year but are yet to receive the steering damper. Kawasaki’s dealers will be able to clarify whether such customers are covered under the offer and when fitment is expected.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R: Engine specifications
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R continues with its 636 cc, liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder engine. The motor produces 127 bhp at 13,000 rpm with RAM Air assistance and develops 69 Nm of peak torque at 11,000 rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox and gets a slip-and-assist clutch.
The high-revving four-cylinder engine remains one of the key differentiators of the ZX-6R in its segment. Kawasaki has not made any mechanical changes to the motorcycle as part of this offer.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R: Chassis and suspension
The ZX-6R uses a perimeter frame and is suspended on Showa hardware. At the front, it gets Showa SFF-BP forks with 120 mm of wheel travel, while the rear uses a fully adjustable Showa monoshock offering 151 mm of travel.
The addition of the Öhlins steering damper is therefore an upgrade to the motorcycle’s existing chassis package rather than a replacement of any of its standard suspension components.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R: Brakes and dimensions
Braking duties are handled by twin 310 mm discs at the front and a single disc at the rear. Dual-channel ABS is offered as standard.
The Ninja ZX-6R has a 1,400 mm wheelbase and 130 mm of ground clearance. Its seat height stands at 830 mm, while the fuel tank has a capacity of 17 litres. The motorcycle weighs 198 kg in kerb condition.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R: Features
The supersport motorcycle comes equipped with a range of electronic rider aids, including a three-level traction control system, ABS and a quickshifter. It also gets Road, Sport and Rain riding modes, along with a 4.3-inch TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is available in a Lime Green colour option in the current offering. At ₹12.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the free Öhlins steering damper effectively adds a high-value performance accessory without increasing the motorcycle’s listed price.
